manufacturing
the glass-body is blown by mouth in murano and is completed in switzerland. in order to add colour to the glass, metal oxides are mixed to the raw materials of glass. shaft and cap are blown by mouth into shape at 1200° C. then, the red-hot mass is shaped by hand, using metal and wooden tools with traditional techniques. each fountain pen has to pass several severe quality controls before leaving the DE MARZI factory. that way, precious and unique items are created, which combine artistic work and innovative technology.
